Donations

Thanks to the generosity of this community we have raised more than $150,000, which has allowed us to provide basic support for 4 families in this community, for 12 months each. When we officially "Parked the CARR", we indicated that we no longer needed to receive additional donations for our work. Over the past number of months, further donations received through this website have been directed to Perth & District Foundation's "Ageless Migration Fund", a new legacy fund designed to provide additional support for refugees and immigrants who come to live in the community. 

Now that The CARR 2 is rolling to support refugees from Afghanistan who are in such dire straits, we are hoping that donors who supported The CARR so generously will once again come to the support of The CARR 2.

This website and page will remain in place to thank our donors and to provide an example for other organizations to follow.

When The CARR first started rolling, we initially thought that it would take an average of $30,000 a year to sponsor a refugee family. We reached out to the generosity of the community to achieve our objective of sponsoring up to four refugee families in the coming months and years. Fortunately, the well-respected Perth & District Community Foundation (PDCF) came to our aid and set up a fund to support The CARR. It provides tax receipts for all donations and professionally manages the funds, which are dedicated to the sponsorship of refugees as required. Out of these funds we have now covered the basic cost of supporting four families, each for 12 months, with assistance from the government for the first two. We have also been able to provide more limited financial assistance to two other newcomers to our community.

You will be immediately transferred to the CARR 2 Donate page, which is linked to Canada Helps, where you may enter a one time donation in the "Donate Now" box, or you may donate monthly by clicking on the "Monthly" box. You will receive an immediate tax receipt from Canada Helps.

You will receive a tax receipt by mail from PDCF for donations made by cheque to the Foundation.

We welcome donations to the "Ageless Migration Fund" so that this endowment fund will be able to grow and provide grants to assist more refugees or immigrants to integrate successfully into this Community.
